The Record-Journal has completed its purchase The Utter Company, publishers of the Sun, an 11,000 circulation daily newspaper in Westerly, RI. Eliot C. White, President & Publisher of the Record-Journal, has announced that this purchase will provide a vibrant future and growth opportunities for both papers. Dave Lucey, General Manager of the Record-Journal, will become publisher of The Sun, and has been promoted to Executive Vice President of the Record-Journal. The paper dates its beginnings to The Weekly Republican in 1867.
